Education and training on board
At sea two groups of people are responsible for providing health care: On the one hand, medical personnel such as doctors, nurses and emergency paramedics. On the other hand, nautical staff, the captain, when no medical staff is available. In any case, the personnel must have a wide range of knowledge and skills – albeit at different levels – in order to be able to treat acutely occurring impairments to the health of guests or crew members.
